Reason for Seeking Public Office:
Our two-party (Rep & Dem) political system has failed to address crucial issues. Therefore I am announcing my campaign as a candidate in both major parties (Dem & Rep). I request that Project Vote Smart honors this announcement and also reports the two Federal Lawsuits that I have filed Smith v. New Hampshire # SA07CA0982OG in order to overcome this prejudice. During the years since I have been seeking public office (in the FALL of 2003 I announced my campaign for U.S. Representative in the 21st Congressional District in central Texas), I have been increasingly concerned about our two-party political system (Republican and Democratic) failing to address issues that they cannot control -- for example Interfaith Religious issues and Muslim and Palestinian issues in the Holy Land. I am addressing the political system failure with two federal complaints (lawsuits). Iowa Republican Party (filed San Antonio, TX date: Sep. 26 07 case no. SA07CA0668XR) Rhett Smith v. New Hampshire Secretary of State (filed in San Antonio, TX date: Nov. 30, 07 case no. SA07CA0982OG) I requested a jury DEMAND: by Plaintiff - Interfaith Tribunal with Muslim-Americans included in the JURY.
