"So my family moved to San Antonio this year and I'll be honest, I was nervous about making friends as an adult in a totally new city (is that not the hardest thing?? lol). Joining the PTA wasn't even really the plan, I kind of just showed up to a meeting not knowing a single person.

Fast forward and I'm meeting parents from all walks of life — working parents, stay-at-home parents — and somehow we all just get it. Same late nights, same worries, same love for our kids. As a full-time worker myself, I honestly didn't expect to find my people this fast, but here we are.

If you've been thinking about joining but weren't sure, just come to a meeting! You don't need experience, you don't need a ton of extra time, you don't need to know anyone. We're a really warm group and there's absolutely room for you here. 🧡"

Grandparents Game Night was such a fun one! 🎲

The cafeteria was packed with grandparents and grandkids laughing, playing games, and just having a great time together. So good to see that kind of turnout!

None of it happens without our volunteers though. HUGE thank you to everyone who set up tables, greeted families at the door, ran the games, and stuck around to help clean up. You all made it such a smooth, fun night for everyone. Shouting out Nancy Padilla Krista Lee Qian Xhang Jennifer Novak!

And honestly, thank you to our volunteers in general, not just for this event but all year long. Wilderness Oak runs on people showing up and giving their time, and we notice and appreciate it more than you know. 💙

Our Wolves set sail on a friendly grade-level competition to collect the most PTA memberships and capture their treasure 💰 - a pizza party and fun Friday in the gym! 🍕There's even a prize for the crews' captains (their teachers) - relaxing massages.

It's a close race with our 5th graders currently in the lead with Pre-K/Kinder and 4th grade picking up speed fast!

🌟 Do you know a Wilderness Oak hero? 🌟

Maybe it's the teacher who always makes time for one more question, the volunteer who shows up every single week, or the staff member who remembers your kid's name and their favorite color. If someone at our school has made you or your child feel seen, this is your chance to say thank you.

Wilderness Oak PTA is taking nominations for the Life Membership Award, and no, they don't have to be a PTA member to qualify. This is just about honoring the people who quietly make our school better.
