Honored to join leaders at JBSA-Fort Sam Houston for today’s Update Brief, Tour, and Luncheon. San Antonio is proud to be Military City, USA, and maintaining a strong partnership with our military neighbors remains a top priority.

During today’s briefing, base leadership outlined strategic alignments between installation leaders and our city to better serve active-duty families and surrounding neighborhoods. We also discussed upcoming housing modernizations and quality-of-life facility improvements designed to support our servicemen and women. Furthermore, modernization initiatives across medical and tactical training sites will keep Fort Sam at the forefront of military excellence. Finally, streamlined intake operations are accelerating the in-processing pipeline, helping new service members and their families settle quickly into base housing, local schools, and our broader community.

We stand firmly behind the men and women serving our nation, and I look forward to our continued work side-by-side with Fort Sam leadership.

Today marks 25 years since the world changed forever. On September 11, 2001, we witnessed unimaginable loss, but we also saw the very best of humanity. We saw firefighters, police officers, and everyday citizens run toward danger to save others, embodying the unmatched resilience and courage that defines America.

As we reflect on a quarter century of remembrance, District 10 stands united in honoring the nearly 3,000 precious lives cut short, the heroic first responders who made the ultimate sacrifice, and the brave service members who stepped up to defend our freedoms in the years that followed.

To the families who carry the weight of that loss every single day: San Antonio remembers, and we will never forget. May we continue to honor their legacy not just with our words, but by standing together with the same strength, unity, and unwavering patriotism that carried our nation through its darkest hours. 🇺🇸

Today marks a historic day for our city as Chief Jesse Salame officially swears in as our Chief of Police.

Chief Salame brings decades of unwavering dedication, deep integrity, and a proven commitment to serving and protecting our community. San Antonio is a safer and stronger city when we have strong leadership at the helm of public safety, and I have full confidence that Chief Salame will lead the San Antonio Police Department with excellence, accountability, and honor.

Please join me in congratulating Chief Salame as he takes on this critical role. I look forward to working alongside him to keep our neighborhoods safe, support our officers, and serve the people of San Antonio.

Inside City Hall: A Week in Review 🏛️ | Episode 3

Earlier this week, our District 10 team visited the Blessed Angels Community Center to recognize the hard work and dedication of our local first responders.

Today during City Council A Session, we officially swore in Chief Jesse Salame. I want to offer a big congratulations to him—I have full confidence he will lead with strength, integrity, and a firm commitment to protecting our neighborhoods.

We also addressed the ongoing TIRZ issue on the floor today. My stance remains clear: taxpayer dollars must be prioritized for core city functions, starting with public safety. I will continue pushing hard to direct more funding straight to our police, fire, and frontline emergency resources.

When businesses choose where to expand, speed matters!

Thanks to KENS5 for highlighting our proposed “Shovel-Ready” Site Readiness Pilot Program! By pre-clearing permitting, utilities, and infrastructure hurdles early, San Antonio can attract major employers, create higher-paying jobs, and grow our tax base—all without raising local taxes.

Starting this program today ensures our city reaps major long-term rewards over the next few years.

Out in District 10 this morning checking in on our SWMD crews as they get to work clearing brush. Just spoke with the foreman—these teams are deployed all across the city pushing hard to get our neighborhoods cleaned up.

Our constables are actively patrolling our streets to keep everyone safe while the power remains out.

Important Reminder: Please make sure to get your tree branches, heavy brush, and storm debris out to the curb as soon as possible so our crews can haul it away.

We’re in this together, District 10. Stay safe and stay patient!
