Hawthorne Academy is the first school in the San Antonio Independent School District to have adopted PreK-8th grade academy school model. Now a K-8 academy, our ongoing efforts are receiving recognition throughout the state. We have used research, community input, and a history of successful initiatives to develop a school model that will lead us to our ultimate goals- an exemplary education for a

ll of our students and expanded opportunities for all members of the Hawthorne community. Our purpose as an SAISD choice/charter school is to ensure that our students have the resources, abilities, and inspiration to overcome obstacles, lead decisively, and achieve their dreams. Every Hawthorne student will leave with the knowledge, dedication, and opportunities to be successful in high school and to be prepared for post-secondary education. As an SAISD choice/charter school Hawthorne Academy will:
- Serve Kindergarten through eighth grade students in a nurturing environment.
- Offer open enrollment to kindergarten through 8th grade students on a space available basis.
- Partner with our local community to positively impact our students’ learning experiences.

🍳 Join us for our Parent “Bye Bye Breakfast Bash” from 8:00–9:30 AM at Amelia social lounge (across the street at The Creamery) sponsored by Trinity University!
🎓 Our 8th Grade Clap-Out line-up begins at 12:15 PM — help us celebrate our amazing our 8th graders final day at Hawthorne!
⏰ Early release is at 1:00 PM.
🚫 There will be NO YMCA after school care.
