Friends,
As most of you know, I didn't make it pass the primaries, therefor I am no longer a candidate for Bexar County District Clerk; however, I am still the Bexar County District Clerk until my term is up. I serve as the co-chair of fundraising for the Northeast Bexar County Democrats.
On Saturday May 14, 2022, the NEBCDs had our meeting. At this meeting candidates attended and made presentations to the membership. The meeting was also conducted via zoom, as well as membership attending in person. The last candidate to speak was Chris Castillo, a runoff candidate for Bexar County District Clerk position. I must in good faith disclose, I endorsed Ms. Castillo's opponent Mrs. Gloria A. Martinez.
As a member and officer of the NEBCDs, I presented a question to Ms. Castillo. The question was simple and if Ms. Castillo had any knowledge or experience as she had contended, she would have answered my question with her opinion and a well thought answer.
The question asked was related to conducting customer service via the Odyssey system, which is a new case management system used at the Bexar County District Clerk's Office. Instead of providing an answer, Ms. Castillo attempted to answer my question and proceeded to respond in a full blown angered and loud attack on me personally. She belittled me and the clerks at the District Clerks office. Ms. Castillo was ranting, raving, and screaming at me, I was shocked but did not react to Ms. Castillo. Ms. Villanueva the newly elected President of the NEBCDs took no action to call Ms. Castillo out of order. Mr. Bob Miller eventually stopped Ms. Castillo.
I am still an elected official and Ms. Castillo showed a total disregard of respect and unjustified attack on me personally. What Ms. Castillo did shows her lack of understanding the case management system. I know there were some elected officials attending the meeting via zoom. Some individuals have asked for a recording of the meeting but were told the meeting was not recorded.
This type of anger outbursts is typical of Ms. Castillo's character. Knowing this side of Ms. Castillo is why I endorsed Mrs. Gloria A. Martinez for the position of Bexar County District Clerk. Thank you.
