Today was the first day of our Lobo Leaders!
Our Lobo Leaders spent time in our ALE classroom reading books, playing games, and building new friendships. It was wonderful to see these students serving as positive role models while bringing smiles and joy to others.
Thank you, Lobo Leaders, for making a difference on your very first day!

A long weekend is coming up! 📅

A reminder that Monday, September 7 is a student and staff holiday. Our campus, along with all NEISD campuses and District offices, will be closed.

We hope our students, staff and families enjoy the extra day off! Rest, recharge and have some fun—we’ll see everyone back at school on Tuesday! 😁

💛 September is National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. Throughout the month, we honor the children and families impacted by childhood cancer. The gold ribbon serves as the international symbol of awareness and hope.
We encourage all students and staff to wear gold or yellow on Friday, September 25 as we stand together in support of these brave children and their families.

Experiment Fridays in ALE!
This week, our ALE students combined science and learning as they explored dinosaurs and colors by creating Fizzy Dinosaurs! Using food coloring, baking soda, and vinegar, students watched colorful chemical reactions come to life while having a blast learning.
Hands-on learning makes every Friday an adventure!

Meet Vicente Rodriguez, our new Campus Safety Specialist!

Originally from Del Rio, Texas, Vicente proudly served in the U.S. Army as a Combat Engineer and continues his service in the Army Reserves. After working as a self-defense instructor while earning his Associate of Arts in Criminal Justice, he joined NEISD as a Campus Safety Specialist in 2026 and is currently pursuing his bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice at UTSA.
He is dedicated to helping create a safe and welcoming environment for all students and staff. We're excited to have him as part of the Wolf Pack!
Welcome to the Wilderness, Vicente!

We can't wait to see our wolves walking the track on Wednesday mornings.

🐾 Wednesday Walkers is back! 🐾

Our Wednesday Walker program is an opportunity for our Wolves (Pre-K through 5th grade) to get some energy out by walking the track before school. We meet on the track at 7AM and walk until the first bell at 7:15AM, weather permitting.

We kick off Wednesday, September 2nd! Last year we had about 80 students and hope to see even more this year.

We have some amazing parent volunteers returning to help again this year, but would love a few more hands on deck. Scan the QR code on the flyer or click the link below to sign up!

We are so blessed to have Mrs. Pippert in our library. Thank you for inspiring our youngest of minds.

What do academic growth, critical thinking, belonging, and engagement look like in an elementary library? At Wilderness Oak Elementary School - North East ISD, they looked like 3rd graders laughing through What About Worms!? while also comparing, interpreting, making connections, supporting their thinking, and talking about how reading helps our brains grow. Wilderness Oak's librarian, Ruth Ann Pippert, built all of that into one joyful library lesson — along with student choice, purposeful book selection, library independence, and the relationships that tell students you belong here and your ideas matter.

This is the work happening in our school libraries: supporting readers, thinkers, and students who feel connected to their school community. ❤️📚
