The San Antonio Fire Department is currently on scene at 6023 UTSA Blvd and also assessing multiple properties at the Rim for damage after a tornado reportedly touched down. No injuries have been reported.

Residents are asked to avoid the areas, if possible, to allow first responders to safely conduct assessments.

Northwest Bexar County remains under a Flash Flood Warning. Please use caution, avoid driving through flooded roadways, and continue to monitor local weather conditions.

Happy 250th Birthday, America!
All programs and services for the City of San Antonio Department of Human Services are closed Friday, July 3, in observance of Independence Day. Members and staff at the City’s Senior Centers showed their true colors with patriotic pride on July 2 at Normoyle and Walker Ranch senior centers. Have a safe and enjoyable holiday!

Todos los programas y servicios del Departamento de Servicios Humanos de la Ciudad de San Antonio están cerrados el viernes 3 de julio en conmemoración del Día de la Independencia. Los miembros y el personal de los centros para personas mayores de la ciudad demostraron su patriotismo el 2 de julio en los centros de Normoyle y Walker Ranch. ¡Que tengan un feriado seguro y agradable!

The Department of Human Services partnered with Adult Protective Services and WellMed Charitable Foundation in recognition of World Elder Abuse Awareness Day 2026 by hosting a step challenge across the City’s comprehensive senior centers. The step challenge, titled, “Walk for a Cause: Step Up to Elder Abuse!,” featured the senior centers creating walking teams of no more than 20 members who tracked their steps. A celebration was held June 15 at Normoyle Senior Center, where winners were recognized – 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place at the center level; 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place at the individual level. Across the senior centers, 209 walkers totaled 25,326,777 steps. Congratulations!

El Departamento de Servicios Humanos se asoció con los Servicios de Protección de Adultos y la Fundación Benéfica WellMed en reconocimiento del Día Mundial de Concientización sobre el Abuso de Personas Mayores 2026 organizando un desafío de pasos en los centros integrales para personas mayores de la ciudad. El desafío de pasos, titulado "Camina por una Causa: ¡Da un Paso Contra el Abuso de Personas Mayores!", consistió en que los centros para personas mayores crearan equipos de caminata de no más de 20 miembros que registraron sus pasos. El 15 de junio se llevó a cabo una celebración en el Centro para Personas Mayores de Normoyle, donde se reconoció a los ganadores: primer, segundo y tercer lugar a nivel de centro; primer, segundo y tercer lugar a nivel individual. En todos los centros para personas mayores, 209 caminantes acumularon un total de 25,326,777 pasos. ¡Felicitaciones!
