Today marks the beginning of Hispanic Heritage Month!

Throughout this month, we celebrate the vibrant cultures, traditions, stories, and contributions of Hispanic and Latino communities. Hispanic heritage is woven in by traditions passed down through generations to the families, neighbors, and leaders who continue to shape our city each day.

At Catholic Charities, we are proud to serve a community rich in culture, faith, and tradition. This month and always, we celebrate the heritage that connects generations and brings our community together. 🫂✨🌎

Happy Grandparents Day from all of us here at Catholic Charities!⭐

This Grandparents Day, we celebrate the grandparents and older adults whose kindness, faith, and life experiences continue to shape generations. From sharing family traditions to offering a listening ear, their presence leaves a lasting mark on the people they love.

May we take time today to celebrate them, listen to their stories, and remind them just how much they mean to us. 🫂

Today, we remember.

On this 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001, we honor the lives lost, the families that were forever changed, and the first responders & everyday heroes who answered tragedy with courage and selflessness beyond measure.

May we continue to carry forward the spirit of compassion, service, and unity that brought our nation together in the days that followed.

We remember. We honor. We will never forget. 🤍

“…But those who hope in the Lord, will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”

-Isaiah 40:31

Today is Su***de Prevention Day 💜

Today, we take time to raise awareness, encourage compassion, and remind those who may be struggling that support is available.

A conversation, a listening ear, or simply checking in can make a meaningful difference. Let’s continue to create a community where people feel seen, heard, supported, and loved.

At Grace Counseling, our counselors are here for you to walk with you through the tough times, offering guidance, understanding, and tools that can help you overcome.

If you or someone you know is struggling, please visit our website or call Grace Counseling at (210) 377-1133. Your life is worth fighting for. https://gracecounseling-sa.org/

Tonight, our archdiocese gathers to say something out loud that grief often whispers against: nothing has separated our loved ones from the love of God.

The Remembrance Mass for Those Who Have Died by Su***de is Thursday, September 10, at 6 p.m. at St. Matthew Church, 10703 Wurzbach Rd, with Archbishop Gustavo García-Siller, MSpS, as celebrant and homilist. Flowers will be provided for the offering at the altar, and no RSVP is needed.

If you know someone who has been carrying this loss quietly, share this with them. An invitation from a friend often travels further than an announcement.

September is National Hunger Action Month.

No one in our community should have to wonder where their next meal will come from. This month, we recognize the importance of coming together to help our neighbors experiencing these obstacles.

Our food pantry at St. Stephen's CARE Center, helps provide individuals and families with meals and essential support when they need it most.

You can take action against hunger by donating food to help keep our pantry shelves stocked. Every contribution helps! Together, we can help create a community where no one goes hungry. 🥫🤍
