🐛⚠️It's Stinging Caterpillar Season in South Texas⚠️🐛

As temperatures rise, stinging caterpillars become more active across South Texas. While they may look harmless—or even fuzzy and soft—some species can deliver painful stings that cause irritation, rash, or more serious reactions.

☀️🚗 Texas Heat Can Turn Deadly in Minutes 🚗☀️

Leaving a child unattended in a vehicle — even for a short time — can have tragic consequences. In Texas heat, the temperature inside a parked car can rise rapidly, even with the windows cracked. On a 90° day, the inside of a vehicle can reach deadly temperatures in just minutes.

Children’s bodies heat up 3–5 times faster than adults, putting them at serious risk for heat stroke, permanent injury, or death.

🔹 Never leave a child alone in a vehicle — not even for a minute.
🔹 Always check the back seat before locking your vehicle.
🔹 Place your phone, purse, badge, or keys in the back seat as a reminder.
🔹 Keep vehicles locked when parked to prevent children from climbing inside.
🔹 Ask your childcare provider to call if your child doesn’t arrive as expected.

See Something? Do Something.
If you see a child alone in a hot vehicle:
➡️ Call 911 immediately
➡️ Try to locate the vehicle owner
➡️ If the child appears unresponsive or in distress, act quickly to get them out safely

Texas summers are no joke. One forgotten moment can change lives forever.

Look Before You Lock.
