Back in the day when Al Phillippus was Chief of Police, there was a brief mission statement over the front doors of 214 W Nueva, and every time I read it, I would ask myself, when did we (the police) become the criminals? Well, that day is rapidly approaching with the proposed City Charter amendment being pushed by the subversive groups ACT4SA and Ground Game Texas in the form of the Justice Policy.

This 13-page document, dubbed the Justice Policy is being pitched by ACT4SA, Ground Game Texas (Austin based), Texas Organization Project (TOP), and past members of the group, FIXSAPD, as a comprehensive change to our city charter. A policy that as promoted by these extremists, will “reduce unnecessary arrest,” “save scarce public resources “(defund the police), prevent the enforcement of certain State criminal laws, and hinder the investigation, search, arrest, and prosecution of crime in our city. The objective of these radical groups is to place this Justice Policy, better described as “The Criminal Benefit Package,” on the May 2023 city ballot. If passed this measure will place every member of the San Antonio Police Department in violation of General Manual Rule 3.01. Abide by laws and Departmental Orders. This policy further details mandatory Internal Affairs investigations should an officer deviate from the Justice Policy, even if it violates state criminal code. SAPD officers will be subjected to additional policies and procedures contradictive of Federal and State laws, which if followed would result in disciplinary action against the officer. Bottom line this policy criminalizes law enforcement in the city of San Antonio.

I no longer wonder when police will become the criminals, the target date, is May 2023, with the city elections. Do not think this is the closing chapter in the fight against law enforcement, there is already talk come November 2023, these same groups will again take a swing at repealing collective bargaining.

I can't imagine defunding. It's not about accountability. It's about due process. When someone makes an accusation against you are you ok with being fired or do you feel that you should be able to give evidence and defend yourself before punishment is handed down...? All their legitimate arguements boil down to that. The 6 months to discipline arguement is a state law. They are lying about this referendum needing to be passed to change that. Please don't let San Antonio fall into lawlessness. It's extremely important to support your Officers on this. Remember that collective bargaining just means that both sides sit down and bargain. It DOES NOT mean that one side or the other gets their way. They agree. Allot of officer safety requirements are in that agreement. If that is removed you will see an mass exodus of the officers that SA invested allot of time into training and being professional. Here is something no one talks about. Did you know that 100% of SAPD's Officers are certified Mental Health Officers? I don't believe there is one other department in the nation that has that. Don't let the training and professionalism lapse with this anti police agenda. Look at cities that did this. We don't want to go down that road so it's going to be critical that we all go vote this down.

Our own Robert Aguilar is promoting to Detective.
His shift will miss him. The daylight Lieutenant is presenting him with a plaque for his selfless service to our wonderful city and his shift peers gave him a nice metal custom sign that is rumored to grant immortality. 😳🤔😁👽👽
