Let's Talk Community Safety!

The City’s Good Neighbor Program is visiting neighborhood association meetings across San Antonio this summer. We’d love to join yours!

These presentations are an opportunity to:

Share your safety concerns Learn how the City uses data to direct resources Discover services and programs available to residents

We’ll visit twice. During our first visit, we’ll lead a quick interactive survey to identify your neighborhood’s top safety priorities. The activity takes only 5–15 minutes depending on discussion. On our second visit, we’ll share the survey results and compare them with real call for service data for your area.

The Good Neighbor Program aims to improve neighborhood safety, enhance quality of life and connect residents to support services.

Saul from the District 5 Office sent this for those who have SNAP benefits and lost food during the recent storm

I’m including the SNAP Affidavits for those who may have had food spoiled due to the power outage. Also including some info that staff shared with me:

Applicants have 10 days to submit affidavit. The 10 days starts the day the food was discovered to be spoiled. In addition to the Affidavit, including an Outage Letter from CPS that applicants should attach to their Affidavit The application will take 48 hours to process from the time HHSC receives it, NOT 30 days as stipulated. Please direct all individuals to the nearest HHSC office to submit their form. Here is the link to the HHSC office locations lookup: https://yourtexasbenefits.com/Screener/FindanOffice

If you have any questions, please reach out. Happy to help as we can and appreciate you supporting your neighbors.

Best,

Saul
