There has been a change - not sure when (probably for a while now) - at Mission San Juan.

The statue of San Juan de Capistrano, the warrior monk, standing over a defeated Moor has been replaced. Now in the same location is a statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary teaching the young Jesus to read the Law of Moses.

Be sure to follow the National Park Guidelines for photographers by following the link in this shared post.

Weddings, Quinceneras, family photos, graduation, and more! San Antonio Missions' limestone walls and ornate Spanish baroque carvings are often the backdrops for many photos, even some pretty famous ones! To ensure a great picture, do some prep work first by visiting https://www.nps.gov/saan/planyourvisit/permits.htm to make sure of hours, guidelines and if a permit is required (, and congrats to any December graduates!)

Did you know that Mission Concepción is the oldest unrestored stone church in America? It took 15 years to build and the structure hasn’t changed much since its completion. Because it was built directly on bedrock, it never lost its roof, or its integrity. ⛪️🙏

San Antonio's Mission Trail is a hidden gem full of history and gorgeous architecture. Take the trail to the Alamo to find out more!

The fall monarch migration has arrived! We’re seeing our first monarch butterflies of the season, flying from the northern United States south to Mexico for the winter.

Today was terrific - got to spend the day with US Air Force Chaplains who are training to take even better care of the spiritual and emotional needs of America's sons and daughters who volunteer to defend our nation.

We had a great time out on the San Antonio Mission Trail today conducting a mini-pilgrimage.

Good morning Mission Trail fans!

Here is a mission that involves getting outside, hiking, and the best aspects of faith.

Warriors on the Way is a worthy cause based here in the San Antonio area helping combat veterans heal from PTSD and Moral Injury. Please consider showing them some support by helping to sponsor a veteran going on pilgrimage this year.

A great photo that expresses the reality that being a warrior does not exclude being a person of faith.

Warriors on the Way is currently accepting applications for the 2019 pilgrimage - please message us for details.

Warriors on the Way is a 501c3 Veterans Organization helping vets overcome PTSD and Moral Injury with a pilgrimage along one of the oldest pilgrimage routes ever - the Camino de Santiago. There is quite a lot of similarity between the missions here on the Mission Trail, San Antonio due to their Spanish design.

We encourage you to give them a look and to also check out this, their newest supporter.
