Sending congratulations and best wishes to our dear volunteer technician, Jaime Gomez! Today was his last day as a retina clinic volunteer, as he’s heading to Chicago!
Jaime is starting medical school at the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago and hopes to specialize in ophthalmology, ultimately focusing on retina.
One of Jaime’s first jobs was at VisionWorks when he was 18 years old. There, he fell in love with vision care. From optical to ophthalmology, Jaime has been working as a tech and is always amazed by what early intervention and treatment can do to improve a patient’s vision and quality of life.
“I am going to miss volunteering at I Care every month for the retina clinic,” said Jaime. “With so many repeat patients coming in treatment, I’ve built a rapport with so many of them, along with the great staff and volunteers. I Care is special. Each patient gets the highest level of care, the best treatments and medication, all at little to no cost… there is nothing like it.”
You will be missed, Jaime, but we are excited to see you follow your dreams!
