¡Feliz National Latina Day!

Today, on National Latina Day, we celebrate all Latina trailblazers who have opened doors, broken barriers, and made history in their communities, careers, and professions.

Trailblazers like our very own Bexar County Clerk, Hon.Lucy Adame-Clark, who made history as the first woman and first Latina elected Bexar County Clerk. Her leadership and dedication represent what is possible when courage, commitment, and community come together.

From elected office and public service to education, business, law, medicine, the arts, and countless other professions, Latinas continue to be the first, and, just as importantly, they are creating pathways so others don’t have to be.

Today, we honor all women who came before us, celebrate the trailblazers making history today, and lift up the next generation of Latina leaders who will make history tomorrow.

Happy Birthday, David Crockett! Today we celebrate the legacy of the legendary frontiersman, soldier, and statesman born on August 17, 1786. From the rugged frontier to the halls of Congress and the Battle at the Alamo, Crockett became one of America’s most iconic historical figures.

Last Friday, we were honored to be a part of this special day, giving the children of our Bexar County Clerk, Hon. Lucy Adame-Clark County Clerk, Lucy Adame-Clark of Bexar County family a behind the scenes of where their parents work. The Bexar Archives team gave the children a behind-the-scenes tour of our vault where they were able to view preserved historical records, followed by a tour of our Presidio Gallery, where they learned about the incredible work and legacy of artists Pompeo Coppini and Waldine Tauch.

Last week was full of creativity, history, and lots of fun with our community! 😊
We had the pleasure of welcoming youth students from the Coppini Academy of Fine Arts into the Presidio Gallery, where they had the exciting opportunity to create their very own art demonstrations! Their creativity and talent brought so much energy to the gallery, and we were thrilled to host them.
We love being able to open our doors, share our history, and create memorable experiences for the next generation.

💜🇺🇸 Join Us in Honoring Our Purple Heart Heroes 🇺🇸💜

Bexar County Clerk, Hon. Lucy Adame-Clark, and the Bexar County Clerk’s Office warmly invite our community to attend our Purple Heart Month Tribute as we honor the courage, sacrifice, and service of our nation’s Purple Heart recipients.

Join us for a special illumination of the Purple Heart Monument alongside the Military Order of the Purple Heart, San Antonio 1836 and the Texas Federation of Women’s Clubs as we pay tribute to the brave men and women who were wounded or made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our country.

The Bexar County Clerk, Hon. Lucy Adame-Clark, Lucy Adame-Clark’s Spanish Archives & Special Collections team was delighted to participate in Bexar Heritage’s Historic Plaza Days event!
We truly enjoy getting out into the community regularly, meeting so many wonderful people, and connecting with some of Bexar County’s incredible organizations that work every day to celebrate our rich history. It is always a pleasure to showcase and share the Bexar County Archives & Special Collections with the public. Sharing the history, records, and stories that make our community unique is what we are passionate about.
Thank you to Bexar Heritage for hosting such a wonderful event. We look forward to seeing everyone again next year!!!
