Douglas MacArthur High School - North East ISD Official page of MacArthur High School, part of North East Independent School District, serving students, staff, and the San Antonio community.

MacArthur High School, established in 1951, has a population of approximately 2,600 students that is ethnically diverse. Between 1999 and 2002, our campus experienced an entire facelift. Even though we are the oldest NEISD high school, every major building is new. MacArthur students are active in a large variety of extracurricular activities while continuing to strive for excellence in academics.

MacArthur High School houses the Electrical Systems Technology Program for students in ninth through twelfth grade who are interested in the electrical industry. The program has been established as an Apprenticeship Program in conjunction with the U.S. Department of Labor, Bureau of Apprenticeship and Training. Students will have an opportunity to earn apprenticeship hours while they are in high school.

Tomorrow, the first members of the Class of 2026 will walk across the stage. 🎓💙

We can’t wait to celebrate our seniors throughout the graduation ceremonies happening Saturday through Tuesday. Check out the full graduation schedule, and remember that all ceremonies will be livestreamed on the NEISD YouTube channel for family and friends who cannot attend in person!

The countdown to cap and gown is almost complete. 🎓

We can’t wait to celebrate the Class of 2026 as they walk across the stage and officially become graduates! Graduation ceremony information, including the date, time, and location, can be found on the graphic below.

Family and friends who cannot attend in person can watch the ceremony live on the NEISD YouTube channel. Find the graduation program, livestream link, and additional ceremony information on the District website at neisd.net/graduation

During a Special Board Meeting on Monday, May 18, the North East ISD Board of Trustees named Interim Superintendent Anthony Jarrett as the Lone Finalist for Superintendent.

“He has maintained a strong commitment to student success, academic excellence and community partnerships,” said Board President David Beyer. “We are confident that his leadership, experience, and vision will help guide our District forward, toward continued growth and opportunity for all staff students and families.”

Jarrett brings more than 25 years of experience in public education including six years with NEISD. He previously served as the District’s Chief Instructional Officer before being named Interim Superintendent in December of last year. Prior to joining North East ISD in 2019, Jarrett served as a teacher, principal and assistant superintendent in Northside ISD.

Following the announcement, Jarrett shared his gratitude to the board and enthusiasm for this next chapter.

“Sitting in this role is a humbling experience,” said Jarrett. “The mindset of service first and self second is something that I fundamentally believe in. I think working alongside you guys, I know our District will continue to grow, get better and be one of the best districts in the country.”

Per state mandate, NEISD trustees must wait at least 21 days before officially voting to appoint Jarrett as our District’s newest Superintendent.
