Ilan Gray is the nephew of Lauren and Solomon Black, one of our bereaved families with TWO baby angels laid to rest in the Chapel Hill ABC Babyland Garden. As this space holds deep personal meaning for their family, Ilan is hoping to honor his family through a special beautification project for the garden while also working toward completion of his Eagle Scout badge.
The project improvements include:
• Installation of rose bushes at the garden entry
• Repair of the metal pathway to address safety concerns
• Addition of pea gravel/rocks along the pathway
• Placement of blessing boxes at each granite bench
• Creation of butterfly gardens behind each bench
• Installation of solar lights along the pathway leading to the benches
• Addition of a protective plastic box beneath the garden sign
• Repainting/remaking of the ABC sign with the updated logo
This beautification effort greatly enhanced the ABC Babyland Garden and created an even more peaceful and comforting space for the families we serve. We are sooo grateful! 🦋
