During this application period, eligible applicants living in San Antonio or Bexar County will be eligible to receive up to three consecutive months (arrears and may include current and future) of rental assistance and utilities assistance, but the total amount of funds that will be provided to a household will be $3,500 maximum for rental assistance and $1,500 maximum for utility assistance.
In the reopening of the Rental Assistance program, we will process applications on a first-come, first-served basis and prioritize assisting families facing evictions. Due to limited funds, if applicants received rental or relocation assistance from our programs within 12 months of applying, they will not be eligible for an additional award.
The Housing Assistance Program may help eligible renters experiencing loss of income due to COVID-19 with rental relief assistance. Online applications accepted from February 1-16, 2023. To qualify, applicants must: - meet income requirements - provide proof of financial hardship - be the primary lease holder - not have received previous rental or relocation assistance program from the city in the last 12 months Households facing eviction will be prioritized.
