Eduardo has been riding in the challenge since 2019 and has raised a total of $15,896 in that time. ❤️
Going on 4 years strong, Eduardo continues to ride in the challenge for his daughter Ana, who sadly passed away from cancer at just 16 years old. 💔
Ana was diagnosed with cancer when she was only 10 months old and since then, she fought long and hard.
Despite all the challenges presented to her, Ana was determined to spread kindness everywhere she went. 💪
Ana left behind a legacy of kindness and compassion in so many ways…
📚 As a passionate reader, Ana saw a lack of books in her hospital’s waiting room and donated over 3000 children’s books to the hospital.
🎨 She loved art, and to raise awareness about the importance of art in schools, Ana nominated her art teacher for a Teacher of the Year award.
✍️ The nomination essay that Ana wrote was one of the 20 national finalists and her school’s art program was awarded a $5000 grant.
🏆 Ana was nominated for the Lance Armstrong Foundation’s 2004 Junior Live Strong Carpe Diem award.
❤️ Before her passing, Ana expressed that she wanted to be part of a donor program and she has now provided sight to two people.
During Ana’s funeral, Eduardo read three beautiful and inspiring letters that Ana wrote, reflecting on her life and her legacy of kindness.
Ana inspired so many people around her to live a life full of compassion.
Her spirit lives on in her father Eduardo, her family, friends, and the community that she touched so deeply.
And we can all learn something from her story and incredible example.
Thank you, Eduardo, for riding in the challenge with us after all these years and for sharing Ana’s story. 💖
