Aid the Silent

Aid the Silent To glorify God by empowering deaf and hard-of-hearing children and teens through access to communication, education, resources, and community.

Aid the Silent was created to help thousands around the world find information about living in today’s society as a deaf or hard-of-hearing individual, to learn about Jesus’ word and to inspire people to embrace their differences. Aid the Silent is dedicated to equip deaf children/teens with the necessary tools and resources to help them find personal success. Through commitment and prayer, Aid th

e Silent dedicates its efforts to providing a platform to raise funds for deaf ministry, deaf research, deaf education and deaf resources. Deaf Ministry: Through our sponsorships deaf children/teens will have the opportunities to attend Christian camps and events. Deaf Research: Funds collected will support organizations that dedicate its efforts to finding treatments and technological advancement that benefit the deaf. Deaf Education: Monies accumulated will support the deaf community through educational institutions and programs by providing funding to train deaf educators. Deaf Resources: Through community donations, Aid the Silent will be able to provide the deaf and hard-of-hearing with equipment and services. We raise the necessary funds to provide HOH/deaf children/teens the tools and resources to help them find personal success. We provide six areas of resources:

3.ASL Lessons (family or individual)
4.Speech Therapy
5.Send HOH/deaf children & teens to faith-based summer camps
6.Deaf Young Life: nondenominational Christian ministry that reaches out into the lives of teenagers to present the Gospel. Deaf Young Life is geared to HOH /deaf teenagers, run by a h HOH /deaf leader with HOH /deaf volunteers as well as volunteers who have a heart for HOH /deaf community. Deaf Young Life events are fully HOH /deaf accessible with captioning & interpreting thus creating a place of unity for the entire community.

💗 September is Deaf Awareness Month 💗

Deaf Awareness Month is a time to celebrate the Deaf and hard of hearing community, recognize the rich culture and identity within the community, and help create a world where communication is accessible to everyone.

It’s also an opportunity to learn, listen, and understand that being Deaf or hard of hearing is about so much more than hearing ability. From American Sign Language (ASL) and Deaf culture to hearing technology, education, advocacy, and accessibility, every person’s experience is unique.

At Aid the Silent, we believe every deaf and hard of hearing child and teen deserves the opportunity to communicate, learn, connect, and thrive.

This month, let’s raise awareness, celebrate differences, break down communication barriers, and continue building a more inclusive world for the Deaf and hard of hearing community.

🤟 Learn. Listen. Advocate. Include. Celebrate. 🤟

What a special day in Tennessee! We are so excited to share these moments from Melissa’s hearing aid fitting at the Tennessee School for the Deaf. 🦻

From receiving her new hearing aids, to watching Mom practice putting them on and learning how to care for them, it was a beautiful day filled with excitement, learning, and support. 💗

We are so grateful for the Tennessee School for the Deaf audiology team and everyone who helped make this experience possible for Melissa and her family!

📦 Exciting delivery day at Aid the Silent from Phonak!

💗 Sometimes, families come to us with a need that goes beyond our usual services and we love finding ways to help make those special requests possible.

This family submitted a special request through their Aid the Silent application. Several of their children have hearing loss, with some using cochlear implants, some using hearing aids, and some using a combination of both. Mom uses hearing aids as well.

The family requested a personal FM system that would allow everyone to connect to one microphone, making family outings like trips to the zoo, SeaWorld, and church much easier. Instead of needing to carry and manage multiple microphones, they can now wear one microphone that connects to the family’s devices.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of a private donor who wishes to remain anonymous, we were able to make this special request a reality. 🩷

We’re so grateful for the opportunity to support families in ways that go beyond the expected and provide solutions tailored to their unique needs. 💗
