“These things we do, that others may live.” The PJ Motto; Because if you want to save people from dangerous situations... you have to be dangerous yourself.
A PJ is attached to almost every elite Special Operations element, from Ranger platoons to SEAL Teams. These operators are trauma surgeons with rifles, specialized in Personnel Recovery.
While others focus on the strike, PJs focus on the save. The cost of entry is a pipeline with a 90% attrition rate—the highest in all of Special Operations. The PJ training pipeline includes Selection, Combat Dive, Military Freefall, Small Unit Tactics, SERE, Advanced Weapons Training, Mountaineering, and Tactical Medicine.
