As one of the many programs within the Child Behavioral Health Services at the Center for Healthcare Services, Healing Hearts Treatment Foster Care seeks to serve children who have been traumatized by abuse, neglect, and exposure to domestic violence.

Treatment foster care provides more than a bed and safe home for our children. As a result of the trauma and abuse/neglect they have been through, many of our children possess emotional and/or behavioral conditions that require specialized therapy and more supervision. As a foster parent, you receive extensive skills-based training and continued, 24/7 support. When the state investigates an allegation of abuse and/or neglect and the home is found to be unsafe for a child, the state assumes custody of the child and places them in to temporary foster care while the family of origin works through a plan to regain custody. Your job as a foster parent is to provide temporary care for the child while their birth family works toward reunification.
