Teen mental health deserves to be talked about.
Sound Mind is a new rock musical that brings audiences inside the lives of teenagers navigating mental health, relationships, isolation, and struggles they often keep hidden.
Set inside an inpatient mental health facility, the story explores what can happen when young people are given a place where they can be heard, understood, and supported.
Premiering in New York during Su***de Prevention Awareness Month, Sound Mind creates an opportunity to open meaningful conversations about something that affects so many young people and their families.
Through music and storytelling, the production asks us to look beyond what we see on the surface—and to remember that sometimes the people who seem okay may be carrying something we know nothing about.
The world premiere is written by award-winning writer Sheryl Berk sheryl_berk and Ray Andersen Ray Andersen with an origiRay Andersenre bringing these stories to life.
Colton Cyr will be performing in one of the production’s principal roles, portraying Pax, one of the teenagers whose story unfolds throughout the musical. He will perform in two of the six world-premiere performances:
