Port San Antonio 2026 Internship Program – Week 1
This week marks the beginning of an engaging and captivating journey for us summer interns at Port San Antonio!
We are proud to be a part of the Port team, coming from our schools, including SSAISD South San High School, John F. Kennedy High School, Compass Rose Ingenuity, and Memorial High School.
During our first week, we toured the Port campus, where we learned about its history as a former Air Force base and its progression into a hub for leading technology innovation. This experience allowed us to grasp and have a deeper understanding of the Port’s legacy, its current activity, and its vision for the future.
We also met with mentors within our assigned departments, including communications, information technology, government affairs, asset management, and property management. These introductions helped us become familiar with our roles while also networking with professionals who will guide us throughout the program.
One of the highlights of the week was a visit to Astroport Space Technologies, located on the Port campus. During the tour, we learned about the company’s work in space technology, including their commitment to develop materials and systems that could support future life on the Moon. The tour was very informative and engaging, which we enjoyed very much!
Throughout the week, we focused on adapting to the new environment, learning workplace expectations, and gaining valuable knowledge from the people around us. As we advance, we look forward to continuing to grow, develop new skills, and make the most of our time at Port San Antonio!
