The San Antonio Violence Elimination (SAVE) program is a Group Violence Intervention strategy funded by the City of San Antonio to reduce group-related violence on the Eastside of San Antonio. Strategies:
1) Create a comprehensive moral message against violence from the community.
2) Organize a credible law enforcement message about the consequences of further violence that uses enforcement strat
egically and enhances legitimacy.
3) Coordinate a genuine offer of help through social services for those group members who want it. The SAVE Group Violence Intervention program aims to communicate the three above messages (strategies) against violence to groups and individuals at high-risk of committing violence in the Eastside Promise Zone. These messages are communicated in either an individual or group setting by law enforcement partners, community members, and social service providers with the goal of providing these high-risk individuals the information and opportunities to stop committing violence.
