Hey everyone! My name is Ryan Leone and I’m a new BAMC EM PGY-1. I grew up on Long Island and realized I wanted to become an Army doctor while I was going to college in Philadelphia. After graduating, I completed a master’s degree in the UK, worked for two years for the federal government in DC, and moved to NYC for medical school. Outside of the hospital, I spend a lot of time on fitness, going to concerts (especially for pop punk or midwest emo bands), trying new restaurants, and traveling. I came to BAMC because (a) there’s no better place to train as a military physician, (b) the people here are incredibly social and kind, and (c) San Antonio is an awesome, affordable, and fun place to live. Please say hello if you come to visit BAMC, and feel free to reach out to me with any questions!

Introducing Kirsten Lalli, one of the coolest gals you’ll ever meet.
- She spent a gap decade chasing bad guys around the globe as an intelligence officer and federal agent, and is now training here with us for EM ✨
- In medical school she enjoyed racing in MedWARs, mentoring undergrads/ROTC students, and getting her peers excited about fitness!
- She’s particularly interested in wilderness and operational medicine, as well as human performance in extreme environments.
- She’s a proud cat mom to two rescues (Loki and Butters)
- In her free time, she loves to travel in search of epic peaks and fine wine, try to keep up with her friends in endurance sports, and bake!

Can’t think of a better rewrite for our next interns mini-bio: “I’ve spent the past decade on the front lines of prehospital care—as an ocean lifeguard, firefighter, EMT, ski patroller, Army line medic, and EMS Academy instructor. Along the way, I’ve served on two global health missions and was honored as the VFW State and National EMT of the Year for my work during California’s Paradise Fire.

But the roles that matter most to me are at home. I’m a husband to Andrea and a father to my son, Kenji—they’re the reason behind everything I do.” (🥲😍)

We are so happy to have you Jason!!

Taylor is from Cincinnati, OH, and went to undergrad at Centre College where she played soccer pre-med school at Louisville. She loves Joe Burrows, CrossFit, GoT, a good burger or steak (👏🏼), and dropping some real hot takes.
Welcome to the family Taylor 🐺🚨

From boiling sausage and chopping up watermelons on a farm during the summer, to starting his EM residency with the solid intent to care for those who serve and have served, next up we have Matt Burgess! He’s not a karaoke fan, but we have 3 years to change that. 🧑‍🌾🦒
