Travis Park United Methodist Church homeless ministry located at 230 East Travis St. SATX needs your help. Every Sunday and Wednesday they provide 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝘀, 𝗰𝗹𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗺𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮 𝗵𝗼𝘁 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝘁𝗼 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝟮𝟬𝟬 𝘂𝗻𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗱𝘂𝗮𝗹𝘀. They desperately need men’s: shirts, pants, belts, shoes. The Low Vision Resource Center is having their 𝟮𝟴𝘁𝗵 𝗔𝗻𝗻𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗟𝗼𝘄 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗼 on Saturday, May 2, 2026, from 9 a.m.- 1 p.m. at the Marriott San Antonio Airport. This FREE event will feature 55 vendors offering products, services, and resources for individuals who are blind or visually impaired.

Owl Radio is their radio reading service that brings the written word to life through sound. Everyday, volunteers read the San Antonio Express-News cover to cover and features readings from publications such as the Business Journal and Essay Report, along with HEB advertisements and daily obituaries. Broadcasting 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, Owl Radio is a constant and reliable source of information.

Owl Radio is accessible through a free mobile app, and listeners can ask Alexa to play Owl Radio. For individuals without access to smartphones or technology, a special radio appliance is available that is pre-programmed to receive only Owl Radio.

25% of the U.S. adult population struggles with mental wellness. In today’s digitally world, relationships are hyper-connected, and yet we are deeply isolated. Despite hundreds of virtual acquaintances, the absence of authentic connection leaves individuals feeling unseen and unheard. This creates a void between the social connection a person desires and what they actually experience. Without vital bonds to provide validation, people increasingly struggle with anxiety, depression, and mental health challenges.

A simple phone call, invitation, or act of kindness can interrupt isolation and remind someone that they matter. Choosing to show up for someone who feels unseen reflects compassion in action—it says, “You are not alone, and your life has value.” Sometimes the smallest gesture becomes the turning point in someone’s story.
