Texas Leadership of San Angelo

Texas Leadership of San Angelo Growing Leaders Kindergarten - 12th Grade
Leaders In The Classroom. Leaders In Life. Texas Leadership is a tuition free public school.

We believe every child should have the opportunity to attend a high quality public school that best meets their needs and helps them reach their full potential. In 2009, Texas Leadership Public Schools opened its doors with 84 faculty and staff members to serve 600 students and their families. The school grew rapidly as testimonies from parents to friends, neighbors and co-workers began pouring in. It has been through the VISION of Founder and CEO, Dr. Walt Landers, that Texas Leadership has now grown to five campuses including: San Angelo, Midland, Abilene, Arlington and Cedar Hill, Texas. As of recent, Texas Leadership serves over 3,700 students across the State, and seeks to develop leaders with the necessary life skills to achieve success. Yesterday, Texas Leadership of San Angelo proudly hosted our 3rd Annual First Responders Breakfast, honoring the courageous men and women who serve and protect our community.

This year’s event held special significance as our nation marks the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001. We paused to remember the lives lost, honor the heroes who answered the call, and recognize the first responders who continue to serve our communities each day.

We were honored to welcome Angelo State University President Ronnie Hawkins as our keynote speaker.

Additional speakers included:

State Representative Drew Darby shared a special welcome by video.

San Angelo Police Department Assistant Chief Adam Scott

San Angelo Fire Department Chief Stacy Wright

Tom Green County Sheriff's Office Sheriff Nick Hanna

Texas Parks and Wildlife Major Jason Huebner

Texas Department of Public Safety Captain Ram Garza

Goodfellow AFB - 17th Training Wing Colonel Rob Watkins

Texas Leadership Public Schools CEO Dr. Walt Landers

Two of our outstanding seniors, Ava Pena and Alexa Pena, served as emcees for the program. The morning also featured special greetings and performances from our Civil Air Patrol, varsity football team, second-grade students, spirit squad, middle school cheer team, and high school cheer team.

A special thank-you goes to our culinary students, who prepared the delicious meal, and to Free Rein San Angelo for generously donating coffee to this event each year.

Thank you to our distinguished guests, student participants, staff, volunteers, and community partners for making this meaningful event possible. Most importantly, thank you to our first responders for your courage, dedication, sacrifice, and unwavering service to our community!
