Calaveras Deputy Sheriff's Association

The Calaveras Deputy Sheriff's Association (CCDSA) is a labor organization for line level members of the Calaveras Sheriff's Department.

It is a seperate entity from the Calaveras County Sheriff's Department. The CCDSA is a community organization which raises funds with the intent of being able to give back to members of the community and other community organizations. Our efforts focus mainly on specifcially youth programs and events but are also given to other worthy causes on a case by case basis. Through donations, community in

volvement and outreach we have been able to see lives changed for the better and programs continue that might otherwise be cut.

Congratulations to Lieutenant Greg Stark on retiring after 31 years of law enforcement service. Greg served as a Custody Deputy, Patrol Deputy, Detective, Sergeant, Lieutenant, and was previously the Calaveras DSA President. We thank Greg for committing 31 years of service to his county and community. Thank you for your service LT, and best of luck moving forward.

The Calaveras Deputy Sheriff Association would like to recognize Sergeant Rudi Leon on a major milestone. On October 1, 2025, Calaveras County Deputy Sheriff Sergeant Rudi Leon marked 20 years of dedicated service with the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office.

Over the last two decades, Sergeant Leon has held numerous key positions within the Sheriff’s Office. These assignments have included (but are certainly not limited to) Patrol Deputy, Field Training Officer, Narcotic Detective, Detective, Detective Supervisor, Cold Case Task Force member, Use of Force Instructor, Baton Instructor, Explosive Ordnance Disposal/Hazardous Materials Team member, Crowd Control team member, Search and Rescue team member, Peer Support, and Deputy Sheriff Association President.

In addition, he has volunteered his time to coach youth sports. Deputy Leon is also a certified Spanish/English Translator.

Sergeant Leon is a valued coworker, a trusted mentor, and a dependable supervisor. Please join us in congratulating Sergeant Rudi Leon on his achievement and thanking him for his dedication to Calaveras County. On behalf of the Calaveras DSA, we congratulate Rudi, our former DSA president, on this accomplishment.
