Thank you Sammamish!
The SAMMI Awards Foundation Board of Directors announced the end of 15 successful years recognizing outstanding citizens in the Sammamish community.
Over the years The SAMMI Awards brought this community together to recognize individuals that went above and beyond through volunteerism to capture the essence of the SAMMI Awards—Sammamish Acknowledging Magnificent Moments of Inspiration.
“Our mission has always been to celebrate and promote community involvement by telling the positive stories of our citizens who consistently go above and beyond, and I think we have accomplished that,” said Mayten Gross, SAMMI Awards Foundation Board of Directors President.
“There are new opportunities now for our community members to be recognized, and although the SAMMI Awards have been very successful, it has served its purpose,” Gross added. “We sincerely want to acknowledge and thank all past SAMMI Awards Foundation Board of Director members, volunteers, sponsors, Executive Directors, SAMMI Award recipients, and especially the City of Sammamish who supported this event throughout the years.”
The SAMMI Awards Foundation was formed by a group of Sammamish residents following the events of September 11, 2001. Their goal was to celebrate and promote positive stories of community involvement in Sammamish as our newly formed city strived to achieve a unified view of coming together as one city.
