🚨 PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT 🚨

The traffic signals at Red Lights 1, 2, 3, and 4 on the Bert T. Combs Mountain Parkway (Resturant Row) are currently not functioning due to a power outage in the area.

Kentucky Power is aware of the outage, and crews are actively working to restore service as quickly as possible.

⚠️ Until power is restored, please treat all non-functioning traffic signals as a FOUR-WAY STOP.

Drivers are urged to use extreme caution, come to a complete stop, and proceed only when it is safe to do so.

🚨 WINTER WEATHER ALERT – PUBLIC SAFETY NOTICE 🚨

The Salyersville Police Department is advising residents of dangerous winter weather conditions affecting our area. Heavy snowfall, icy roads, and extreme cold temperatures are creating hazardous travel and safety risks.

⚠️ Please take the following precautions immediately:
• Avoid non-essential travel
• Roads may be icy and visibility reduced
• Slow down and decrease following distance if driving
• Stay indoors when possible and limit time outside
• Check on elderly neighbors and those who may need assistance
• Bring pets indoors and ensure adequate home heating

Emergency crews are actively monitoring conditions. Please keep emergency lines clear for true emergencies only. Dial 911 for emergencies.

As we celebrate this Christmas season, we want to take a moment to wish our community a joyful, peaceful, and safe holiday. We are thankful for the continued support and trust of the citizens we serve.

The Magoffin County Sheriff’s Office, along with the Salyersville Police Department, Salyersville Fire Department, Magoffin County Rescue Squad, and Middle Creek Fire Department, is currently on the scene of a commercial structure fire on KY-114.

Motorists are urged to use caution in the area and seek an alternate route. This portion of KY-114 will remain closed until further notice as emergency personnel continue to work the scene.
