The City Library invites Bibliosaurs of all ages to participate: kids, teens, adults, even babies and toddlers! It’s an adventure across time for Bibliosaurs and Veloci-Readers! This summer, you can move, explore, connect, read, learn, play, and Unearth a Story. Reading never goes extinct at your City Library, where you can explore great stories and earn prizes along the way!

Sign up starting May 30, at your favorite branch and get your free summer reading tracker or sign up online. Then, dig up your next read with our book recommendations. (Links in Bio)

When you finish the challenge, return to your favorite City Library branch by Saturday, August 1 to get your completion prize and enter to win a Grand Prize!

If you’ve ever stared into the eyes of an animal and wondered what they were thinking…these books have some ideas.

Two newly released films—Remarkably Bright Creatures and The Sheep Detectives—are adapted from books told, at least in part, from the perspective of animals. In the case of these stories, the animals help solve mysteries, but animal POV books run the thematic gamut from magical realism to thriller, satire, historical fiction, and more.

For this month’s Date a Book, Matt dove into “A Ship of Bones and Teeth” by Karina Halle. One minute he was reading, the next he was immersed in waves and a dark fantasy retelling of The Little Mermaid.

And to the staff who checked on him while he was working from home half-mermaid… we appreciate you.
