This year, maybe the most patriotic thing we can do is leave the fireworks to the professionals.

Utah is facing extreme drought conditions and dangerous wildfire risk. Families have already been evacuated, firefighters are stretched thin, and one stray spark could change lives forever.

Skip the backyard fireworks this year. Celebrate with a community show, a barbecue, a parade, or time with family and friends instead.

Our state, our air, our mountains, and our neighbors will thank you.

Yesterday’s primary results showed that even Utah Republicans are growing tired of the far-right extremism and self-dealing corruption that has dominated our state politics.

But let’s be clear: defeating a few extremist incumbents in the primary isn’t enough. Utah families, workers, students, seniors, and minority communities deserve leaders who will actually fight for them—not another Republican supermajority that rubber-stamps the same agenda year after year.

The path to real change isn’t replacing one Republican with another. It’s electing Democrats in November and finally breaking the GOP’s grip on the Utah Legislature.

The work continues. Let’s get it done.
