π PFCCA Tip Tuesday π
Preventing Burnout Starts With You
As family child care providers, we spend our days caring for othersβbut it's just as important to care for ourselves. Burnout can impact our health, relationships, and the quality of care we provide.
Here are a few ways to protect yourself from burnout:
β¨ Schedule paid time off and actually use it
β¨ Set clear business hours and boundaries
β¨ Connect with other providers for support
β¨ Plan vacation days throughout the year, not just when you're exhausted
β¨ Remember that rest is a professional responsibility, not a luxury
π‘ Tip: Add your planned days off to your calendar at the beginning of the year so families can plan ahead and you have something to look forward to.
When providers are rested and supported, everyone benefitsβespecially the children in our care.
π Question of the Week:
How many days do you take off each year for vacation, personal time, or mental health days? Let us know in the comments! ππ
