In FY 2025 alone, businesses reported $178.3 million in unclaimed property to Utah, more than triple annual levels seen for most of the prior decade.

The Utah Unclaimed Property Division returned a record $43.4 million in lost money to people across the state in FY 2025. πŸŽ‰

During the same year, the division received $178.3 million in new unclaimed property, including dormant bank accounts, uncashed checks, insurance proceeds, and utility refunds.

To meet the growing demand, the division is strengthening fraud protection, adding staff, and streamlining claims to get money back to Utahns faster and more efficiently.
