Mosaic House is a nurturing, home-like environment that provides adolescent girls 14-18 years of age with opportunities to practice life skills.

We are a transition home located in Murray, Utah. Mosaic House is a nurturing, home-like environment that provides adolescent girls 14-18 years of age with opportunities to practice life skills while refining their executive functioning through real world application. Mosaic House staff use a DBT coaching model to assist our adolescent girls toward self-sufficiency and early adulthood.

"Cannot believe it's been a year since I left the safe little second home I made for myself in SLC and moved back home to LA. This year has been nothing but magical. Everyday has been a new adventure and I've grown and learned so much. A year ago, the thought of moving back home was terrifying but I believe it was among one of the best choices I've made. This year has brought so many new people into my life whom I get to call family. I want to thank everyone in my life today along with my Utah fam who encouraged me to make this move. You guys rock, don't ever change"

So here's some non non-directed advice for high school students concerned about their applications to college (read: every high school student): take the AP courses that are of interest. Don't take every AP course offered just to take a shot at being graduated at the very top of your class. Develop passion and commitment outside the classroom, not a compendium of insipid community service hours. Become involved in activities that have meaning for you whether or not you think those undertakings will "look good" at Dartmouth or Rice. Read a book that isn't assigned for goodness sake. Take some time off. Go for a hike with friends. Make a minor mistake and deal with the consequences.

In short, have a life.

Kids learn what they live. Model joy, acceptance. "Don't do things. Be things." Communicate that your kids will be okay if they go to Duke or some "lesser" school. Let your kids know that you believe in them because they have your good values and morals.

Mosaic House just took a trip to our nation's capital, Washington DC! We visited two Smithsonian's, Holocaust museum, and several historic landmarks. Great weekend!

Two of our kids got part time jobs in the Murray area this week! We are so proud!

Yesterday was a success! We partnered with Gateway Academy, LLC and went ice skating. Friendships were made, and lots of laughs and fun! What a great way to spend a Tuesday night!
