Does our public health matter? Do our politicians and lawmakers care about public health? Editors for The Journal of American Medical Association are going on record to state "More background checks; more hotel, school, and venue security; more restrictions on the number and types of guns that individuals can own; and development of “smart guns” may help decrease firearm violence. But the key to reducing firearm deaths in the United States is to understand and reduce exposure to the cause, just like in any epidemic, and in this case that is guns."

The shooting in Las Vegas, Nevada, that left 59 people dead, 10 times that number wounded, and thousands of people with the psychological distress from being present at the scene during and after the massacre has once again raised the issue of what we as a nation can and should do about guns. Just so everyone knows, these are the kind of as****es that routinely spout nonsense and threats on this page. Yep, that's a rifle this responsible gun owner is pointing at the camera. This one, Timothy Allen Albertson flatters himself a pious patriot no doubt. And thinks he represents the LDS church. Then again, for all we've heard from self-declared Mormons on this page, maybe he does?

What really explains the difference in the United States across the populations is the number of guns. Because it’s gun su***de which is so different.”

The presence of a gun increases the likelihood that someone in the home will die a violent death, particularly by su***de.

German & Austrian gun manufacturers are supporting or going along with sensible gun controls in Germany & Austria, because the Government requires it. In the U.S. the Government has written a blank check. Profits over People.

Germany, per capita, has the fourth-highest gun ownership in the world, but its strict laws mean they are largely kept out of the public eye.
