Utah Division of Multicultural Affairs Our mission is to promote a welcoming climate that builds opportunity and belonging in Utah.

The Utah Division of Multicultural Affairs was established within Utah’s Department of Cultural and Community Engagement to develop a culturally-diverse outreach program for all ethnic communities to increase equity and inclusion. The Division recognizes the importance of developing relationships with the many different communities throughout Utah in order to achieve its important mission.

Utah is home to more than 130,000 veterans with communities across the state that support service members, veterans, and military families through connection and shared experiences. Magnify Utah helps highlight the people, places, organizations, and resources that strengthen Utah’s veteran and military community.

Through partnerships and community connections, Magnify Utah features:
• Veteran and military family resources
• Community organizations and support networks
• Veteran-owned businesses
• Local events and opportunities to connect
• Stories that reflect Utah’s military and veteran community

Magnify Utah is a resource created by the Division of Multicultural Affairs to connect military families with engagement opportunities. MCA is among several CCE divisions that engage with military families.

We’re hiring a Deputy Director for the Utah Division of Multicultural Affairs, and this role sits at the intersection of leadership, community trust, and real-world impact.

Why this role matters
The Deputy Director helps ensure that our division is not only effective, but relational, responsive, and grounded in community. This person will help lead statewide initiatives that support youth leadership and stronger connections between communities and government.

Key areas of focus include:
• Leading our signature youth programs (High School Leadership Day & Middle School Leadership Summit)
• Coordinating and supporting the Multicultural Commission and MLK Jr. Human Rights Commission
• Managing complex projects, partners, timelines, and budgets
• Working across agencies and with community leaders throughout Utah
• Helping translate community voice into actionable public service
Who we’re hoping to find

This role may be a great fit if you:
✔ Are a strong project or program manager
✔ Have experience working with multicultural communities
✔ Can hold both strategy and ex*****on at the same time

Bridging Leader, a young leader whose innovative ideas and actions have begun to bridge gaps within the community in true “Bridge Building” spirit.

Legacy Builder, an established leader (age 50+) who has been instrumental in fostering understanding and dialogue for the betterment of all communities and who is also dedicated to nurturing the next generation.

A Legacy Community Health Worker established in the profession dedicated to connecting communities with the healthcare system
