Eight sculptures made entirely of canned food are now on display at Salt Lake County facilities across the valley through the end of July, as part of our America250 Utah celebration. 🚀🔔🎂

Built in partnership with AIA Utah (American Institute of Architects), every single can will be donated to Utah Food Bank when the display comes down. Plus, we have a goal of generating 250,000 meals for local families.

Salt Lake County Public Works held their annual "Mega Safety Meeting" at the Library's Viridian Center on Tuesday, March 24. Attendees included all Public Works Operations staff and Flood Control's Field Operations staff.

The yearly professional development opportunity includes presentations from dozens of subject matter experts, including Utah Occupational Safety and Health, Zero Fatalities, and risk management. Personal protective equipment, safe driving, and specialties like avalanche and rockfall safety were just a few of the topics discussed. Additionally, there were crew presentations on specific task operations. More than 100 County employees attended to strengthen their knowledge and networks-working together to protect our community.

We are HIRING for several related full-time and seasonal positions. Swipe to see current postings, then visit slco.to/jobs and select "Public Works Operations" or “Flood Control” to learn more and to apply.
