The Utah Department of Health and Human Services declares June 8–14 as Family Connection Week in Utah — and a reminder that the strongest communities start at home.
From shared meals and screen-free time to outdoor adventures and neighborhood connections, even small moments make a lasting impact. Whether it’s a hike in your local canyon, a visit to a museum or state park, or joining a community event, there’s something for every family to enjoy together this summer.

As we look toward America250, we’re also celebrating the ways Utah families connect through service, tradition, and community. From Walk250 and America Gives to America’s Potluck on July 5 and dozens of local celebrations, there are endless opportunities to come together, give back, and build something bigger than ourselves.

Ready to hit the water this weekend? 🎣

Fishing is a fantastic way to enjoy Utah’s beautiful outdoors, and locally caught fish can make a delicious, nutritious meal! 🌲🐟

Most fish in Utah waters are safe to eat regularly, but some species from specific areas should be limited due to mercury levels. Because you can’t cook or freeze mercury out of fish knowing before you go is key! 🛑

Follow this simple routine to enjoy your catch safely: Look, Hook, Cook!

🔗 Visit fishadvisories.utah.gov to explore the interactive fish advisory map, and plan your next trip.
