So… what does an Army doctor actually do?
Probably more of what you’d expect—and some things you might not.
In Episode 3 of Answer the Call: An Army Medicine Story, Damien starts looking beyond the uniform to understand what practicing medicine in the Army can actually look like.
Army physicians practice medicine. Their day-to-day work depends on their specialty and mission, just like their civilian counterparts. But Army Medicine can also take healthcare professionals beyond the traditional hospital setting—from supporting Soldiers in operational environments to humanitarian and global health missions.
For Damien, understanding the opportunity also means separating what he’s heard about Army life from what Army medical professionals actually do.
Now we want to hear from you: What’s something you’ve heard about being a doctor in the Army that you’ve always wondered was actually true?
Drop it in the comments. Your question could help shape a future story.
