Did we dodge a bullet this spring, or what?? Measurable snow is dwindling at high elevation sites, but the melt continues to be very slow due to afternoon storms and cooler temps. We'll likely see elevated flows in Little Cottonwood Creek for quite some time, but we don't expect any massive flood-type flows unless the weather forecast changes. ❄💦🎥 Watch our last scheduled snowpack update for the epic 2023 season at https://youtu.be/K3ikDbFRaaQ.

More of the same folks! Snowmelt should remain slow, steady, and consistent over the next week, based on the 7-day forecast. Still a lot of snow up high in north facing slopes in Little Cottonwood Canyon. Watch our June 6 Snowpack Update video for more details, https://youtu.be/yd6pBLQtM_4.

Moderate temps and afternoon thundershowers in the 7-day precip forecast will continue the controlled melt-cycle we've enjoyed so far this spring. Although there is still a significant amount of snow water equivalent (SWE) in north facing higher elevation snowpack in both canyons, we expect predicted flows in both Big and Little Cottonwood Creeks to plateau and slow in the next two weeks.
