The Salt Lake Area Family Justice Center at the YWCA is an innovative, collaborative model to address family violence that builds on strong existing collaborations among governmental and private nonprofit service providers to co-locate victim-centered domestic violence services in one accessible location. Mission: The mission of the Salt Lake Area Family Justice Center is to reduce domestic violen

ce by strengthening victim safety and increasing offender accountability through community collaboration and accessible, co-located, victim-centered services. History: The Salt Lake Area Family Justice Center is the first family justice center in Utah and serves victims and survivors – both women and men – throughout Salt Lake County. The SLAFJC opened at YWCA on May 3rd, 2007 one day a week and by mid-October 2007 began offering free, confidential walk-in services five days a week. Department of Justice – Office on Violence Against Women; Salt Lake County; and private charitable contributions through YWCA Utah.
