Effective immediately, I Monty R Davis resign my position as district 3 brushy school board member and board treasurer.

My goal when running for school board was to make sure the school operated within legal perimeters and to assure that all students were afforded the same privileges and opportunities.

As a Cristian I can not align myself with illegal activities. I will not sign papers that are false. Because of this I feel my children were being targeted and retaliated against to the point I felt it necessary to change schools.

To the people who supported me and voted for me, I offer my sincerest thanks.

Please don’t send your kids to school sick. If they are sick it will just make other kids sick.

New state law (senate bill 139) went in effect August 29, 2025 no cell phones from bell to bell.
Some exceptions only for students who monitor their health on their phones like for example a student with diabetes that monitors their glucose levels. Or a student who monitors their heart with their phone. They would still need to have a doctors note allowing them to have the phone and follow school policy.

Lots of smart and talented students at the awards ceremony today! Makes me happy to see students excel and grow! Also thanks to the amazing teachers at Brushy that do a great job in planting the seeds of knowledge and helping our students grow and pointing them in the right direction!

When school resumes please don’t send your child to school sick. If you do your not only making other students sick but also making staff sick as well. Brushy is not the only school effected by this sickness. Other schools have staff who are sick and it is hard to find subs with so many sick. Hopefully things will return to normal soon. I pray everyone a speedy recovery.

We are seeing an increased number of students with respiratory and GI symptoms. Our school policy is posted below with guidance on when to keep a student home and when they can return to school. Please reach out to Mrs. Shannon with any questions.

Due to a significant rise in illness among staff and students, Brushy School will be closed Friday, January 31st. This decision allows our custodial staff additional time to deep clean and sanitize all school facilities while also giving students and our staff extra day to recover. School will resume on Monday, February 3, 2025.
