A huge congratulations to the United Way of the Lower Eastern Shore for another successful Over the Edge event! 💙

MAC was proud to be part of this exciting fundraiser, with our very own Bill Ritz, IT Systems Administrator, and Gaylena Bivens, Board of Directors member, bravely going “Over The Edge” for MAC.

Together, Bill and Gaylena raised more than $3,200 to help continue MAC’s long-term impact on the seniors we serve across the Lower Shore.

We are so grateful to United Way, our rappellers, and everyone who donated, cheered, and supported this incredible event!

Happy International Nurses Day! 💙

Today, MAC proudly recognizes and celebrates the compassion, dedication, and care that nurses bring to individuals, families, and communities every day.

We are especially grateful for the incredible nurses on our own team: Mary Palenchar, Nancyellen Morris, and Kathy Walker.

Thank you for the work you do, the support you provide, and the difference you make in the lives of those we serve. Your care and commitment are deeply appreciated - today and every day.

Mental health is health - at every age. 💙

This May, as we recognize both Mental Health Awareness Month and Older Americans Month. At MAC, we encourage our community to check in, stay connected, and remember that support matters.

Taking care of your mind is just as important as taking care of your body.

The AARP Fraud Watch Network Helpline is seeing reports of fake parking violation notices circulating—starting in Colorado and possibly spreading to other states.

Here’s how the scam works: Scammers leave or send official‑looking notices claiming you owe a parking fine. The notice includes a QR code that leads to a payment site requesting $6. Because the amount is small, many people pay without questioning it, only to find out the ticket was never real.

❗ What to Watch Out For
• Unexpected parking violation notices with QR codes
• Requests for payment through links or QR codes
• Pressure to pay quickly to avoid penalties

✔ What to Do
• Don’t scan the QR code or click the link.
• Check parking violations only through your city or county’s official website.
• When in doubt, contact the local courthouse or parking authority directly.

If you’re unsure or think you may have paid a scammer, call the AARP Fraud Watch Network Helpline at 877‑908‑3360.
