The department received its most recent re-accreditation status in the spring of 2017, for its thirteenth consecutive term. This is an accomplishment that the men and women of the department are very proud of, as it puts them among other highly ranked agencies. An accredited police organization must m
eet very high and proven standards, which help the agency to operate efficiently as well as in a structured and professional manner. The department subscribes to a community policing philosophy and takes very seriously the relationship and trust that is establishes with the community. Recognizing that a key to success in this regard is to cultivate a community that supports the efforts of their police department and who are comfortable contacting us the department for assistance when the need presents itself.
