πŸ›‘ Road work ahead πŸ›‘ Ya, I sure hope it does πŸ›‘

You might see some work going on in town and think to yourself "What are they doing down the manholes? We are working through our sewer main lining program right now!

Crews will first send a camera into the pipe to inspect the condition and find issues like cracks. We fix the pipes by using what is called in-situ pipe lining which works like a "pipe within a pipe". A flexible liner is saturated with a liquid resin, such as epoxy or polyester. This liner is pulled or inverted into the existing pipe through an access point, such as a manhole and then is inflated and cured creating the "new pipe".

You can learn more about main lining in edition 4.6 of the DPW Discussion newsletter: https://www.salinemi.gov/departments/public_works/index.php

Join us for a Saline Pride Social on Saturday, June 20 from 12 - 2 p.m.!

We'll be gathering in front of City Hall for snacks, activities, a story time with the Saline District Library and a chance to hear from local leaders.

Pride in Saline is going to look a little different this year.

We will still be flying the pride flag at City Hall for the month of June, but won't be holding our typical flag raising event. Instead, there are several community groups collaborating on a special pride celebration on June 20, make sure you keep your eyes peeled for more information coming soon!
