City of Salinas Volunteer and Neighborhood Services Program All things Neighborhoods! We have many opportunities to fit the needs, experiences and time commitments of today's volunteer.

The City of Salinas recognizes the desirability and value of enlisting concerned and committed persons to aid in providing governmental services. The volunteer program will support and enhance services to the public, assist a diverse population of students and community members by providing enjoyable and meaningful impact in our community. The City celebrated the grand re-opening of Closter Park on August 29, 2026. The renovations were an over $10 million investment of State, Federal, and local funding in improving the quality of life in our community and giving the hundreds of Salinas residents that visit the park each week a new and refreshed space to enjoy and explore!

The City of Salinas Neighborhood Beautification Grant is now accepting applications for the 2026โ€“2027 funding cycle! Eligible neighborhood groups, organizations, and residents can apply for funding to bring community improvement projects to life.

Before applying, please schedule a one-on-one informational session with a Neighborhood Services Coordinator.
