Thanks to an enhanced global reference panel made up of individuals with long-standing ties to specific areas, your DNA results now offer a much clearer picture of where you come from. Even if you havenโ€™t used Ancestry, understanding how DNA is used to calculate ethnicity can be helpful for understanding how regions can be identified in genealogy research.
