The 4 seasonal state airports in the Cascade Mountain Range have reopened today!

As of May 1st Crescent Lake State Airport, McKenzie Bridge State Airport, Santiam State Airport and Toketee State airport are now open just in time for this beautiful weather!

The runway at the Wakonda Beach State Airport has reopened!

It was temporarily closed in February due to turf damage resulting from an aircraft accident. With help from local volunteers and ODAV staff the runway and parking area are good as new!!

Turf maybe soft so please exercise typical soft field precautions.

✈️ Cottage Grove State Airport 10.7.25

Cottage Grove State Airport got its apron fully reconstructed last summer along with a surface seal on its runway and taxiway! As weather warms up this is a beautiful place stop and enjoy the scenery! Also, stop in at the Oregon Aviation Historical Society & Museum to learn about the history of aviation in the state!

PRESS RELEASE:
ODAV has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Cellen to explore the use of hydrogen fuel cell-powered Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) Uncrewed Aircraft Systems (UAS) in the National Airspace System for commercial and civil operations across Oregon.

The agreement outlines a collaborative effort to assess and advance the operational feasibility of hydrogen-powered UAS platforms to support business-to-business logistics, critical medical deliveries, wide-area mapping and surveying, and search and rescue missions—particularly in rural and geographically diverse regions of the state.

Commercial UAV News recently published an article on the Memorandum of Understanding between ODAV and Lane Community College. This article highlights how ODAV and LCC are using drone training and experimental flights in Oakridge, Oregon, to explore new ways drones can detect, monitor, and help mitigate wildfires. The program also aims to build community trust and develop a skilled workforce that can support emerging wildfire technology and strengthen Oregon’s long-term wildfire response capabilities.

✈️Aurora State Airport 9.15.25

Last September construction was completed on the Aurora State Airport Runway Rehab project. This project included having the runway repaved, correcting a non standard grading of the the crown and the cutting of grooves to improve drainage and braking in wet conditions.
