Salem proudly sent 19 students in grades 5–11 to perform for the New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA)! Students prepared solo performances for a judge and demonstrated their musical skills through sight reading, scales, and rudiments.

Through this experience, students receive valuable feedback to help them grow as musicians and qualify for competitive music opportunities. We are proud of these students for challenging themselves and sharing their talents! 🎵🎺

Salem Jr./Sr. High School students rolled up their sleeves and gave back across the district during Salem Service Day 2026! One of our favorite days of the year, Service Day brings students together to connect with one another while making a positive impact on the larger school community that supports them.

From serving as reading buddies in elementary classrooms, to refurbishing the town's Adirondack chairs in Salem school colors, to helping clean and organize the library, students took an active role in strengthening the Salem Central School District. We are incredibly proud of their hard work, teamwork, and commitment to being engaged and caring members of our community!

Students and staff in the Focus Room work together to sell coffee and homemade goodies throughout the school. This hands-on experience helps students build teamwork, communication, and workplace skills while serving the school community. ☕🍪
